WHO WE ARE.

We are Tony’s Community Kitchen, a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation based in Toowoomba, Queensland, founded by Tony Hurle in 2020.
At our core, we are a community of more than 150 dedicated volunteers who generously give their time to prepare, cook and serve hot, nutritious meals seven nights a week, 365 days a year. We support individuals across the Toowoomba and Darling Downs region who are experiencing homelessness, financial stress, or social isolation.
Operating daily from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at 174A James Street, South Toowoomba, we provide more than just a meal. We offer a safe, welcoming space where people are treated with dignity and respect. Alongside our evening service, we also provide access to showers, laundry facilities, pantry items, toiletries, and, when available, clothing and bedding.
Tony’s Community Kitchen exists to ensure that no one in our community goes without a meal or a place to feel supported. As we are not government-funded, our ability to operate relies entirely on the generosity of donations, sponsorships, and the ongoing support of our community.
Together, we are more than a kitchen - we are a place of connection, care, and compassion.

WHO IS TONY?

From a young age, Tony has been helping people within the community. A Wilsonton boy growing up in a single-parent family, Tony loved his community and for many years has been involved with the homeless and at risk of homelessness.

Tony had been providing pies, sausage rolls and cooking a BBQ using park facilities for people in need two nights of the week. Easter Sunday 2020, the opportunity arose to get the community involved and with this help, a registered charity was formed, of which Tony is the founder.
